Tac Sortie 2 (Mission Set)

vACC MQ3 | Platform mission-set execution: SEAD / BVR / Advanced A/G

OBJECTIVE

Execute a platform-appropriate mission set under instructor supervision. Trainee will demonstrate mission planning, systems setup, comm discipline, and safe execution of tactical tasks (SEAD for F-16/F-35; BVR for all aircraft; advanced A/G for F-15E/F-16/F-35) as defined by unit SOP.

SELECTED MISSION TRACK (INSTRUCTOR ASSIGNED)

SEAD Track

F-16 / F-35

  • • Threat reaction and standoff decision making
  • • Sensor management for emitters (as modeled)
  • • Attack timing and egress discipline

BVR Track

All Aircraft

  • • Detect → commit → support → terminate timeline
  • • Sort and target assignments
  • • Comms brevity and mutual support

Advanced A/G Track

F-15E / F-16 / F-35

  • • Target talk-on and confirmation
  • • Delivery mode discipline (as modeled)
  • • Safe escape and deconfliction

EXECUTION

Pre-Flight / Mission Plan

  • • Mission brief: objective, packages/roles, comm plan, TRs, abort criteria
  • • Systems setup: steerpoints, sensors, weapons, countermeasure program
  • • Fuel plan: joker/bingo and recovery plan

Execution Events (Track Dependent)

  • • Demonstrate timeline discipline and comm brevity during tactical phases
  • • Maintain deconfliction and safety rules (hard deck, bubble, safe headings)
  • • Demonstrate re-attack logic or terminate criteria based on fuel/threat/time

SUGGESTED EVENT SET (INSTRUCTOR OPTIONS)

  • • 1–2 BVR intercept setups with sort/support/terminate calls
  • • 1 SEAD run (if applicable) with threat reaction + egress discipline
  • • 1–2 A/G runs (if applicable) emphasizing pattern + safe escape

Recovery & Debrief

  • • RTB with fuel/weapon checks and admin reset
  • • Recovery per local procedures
  • • Debrief: decision making, comm discipline, systems management, safety items

COMPLETION STANDARDS

To complete MQ3, trainee must demonstrate:

  • •Correct mission setup (nav/sensors/weapons) for assigned track
  • •Disciplined comms and timeline management
  • •Safe tactical execution with adherence to TRs (hard deck/bubble/safe headings)
  • •Sound decisions: continue/terminate based on threat/fuel/mission requirements

Completion: Instructor sign-off for vACC mission qualification
